Short of the House of Blues Anaheim, this has been the neatest club I've been to so far. It's south of Seattle proper, so it's not in the heart of things, in fact it's pretty much in the middle of an industrial wasteland just up the street from the Starbucks corporate office ... which sold me the worst Starbucks beverage I've ever had, go figure. The club itself is divided into two parts, a bar with food and the concert area proper. The bar opens early, and though you can't get to the concert floor until later, there's plenty of room and an above average number of chairs. A really long bar, friendly barkeeps (one cute one with pierced dimples no less), good food, and some of the largest bouncers (both guys and gals) in history. When the show opens, curtains, windowsa and doors between the bar and concert area open and you can go down to the really good sized concrete floor with the sound board cordoned off in the middle. One big bar lines the back of the place, although it is a long was there from the stage. The stage is small and minimal, not a lot of lights or other stuff, and the sound was ok, but not really great, and I'm not sure if that was the venue's fault or the sound guys. The place gets crowded and hot, although at the time Seattle was experiencing record heat. Shows outside of Orange County seem to be on the tame side and this place didn't seem to be any exception. Compared to the pits I've been in for the Supersuckers [whom I was there to see, along with Nashville Pussy and the good Reverend Horton Heat], the action was pretty timid ... and a lot older than I'm used to too. Then again I guess it was a 21+ show for some reason. Only gripe ... bathrooms are a mess, which is odd since they're really nice before the show begins. Given that I've never seen soooooo many drunks in one place before I shouldn't be surprised that stuff was flying and dropping everywhere, but chicken coming back up in the urinal ... ewww ... I almost feel sorry for that guy ... almost. The
