I've only been here once. It became pretty clear to me why this place has gone through so many transitions. It doesn't really seem well-suited as a concert venue. The food isn't all that great, and is way overpriced in comparison to the other Orange County venues. The Grove would be a great place for some classical performances maybe, if anyone would go. But for rock shows and the like, it's too far removed from the performance. It comes across as a bad mix between an arena show and dinner theater ... too big for dinner, too small for an arena. And there's no pit. I can't say I really know all that well what happens there at other shows, but unless it's someone I've absolutely got to see and they're not playing anywhere else, I won't be going. If you go, to get up front, you have to pay extra; dinner reservations get the middle section; and people who just want tickets get the rear. They do have different configurations for seating, and you can usually get that information online at Ticketmaster or the Grove's website. The Grove of Anaheim |
