sorry it's been so long, but i've been putting off a lot of stuff this
last month. mostly cuz i was looking for time to redo this site to make it
crawler friendly. at this point i'm almost finished. just gotta do the
concert reviews.
i'll do those tomorrow. i'll have the time. CUZ I'M UNEMPLOYED!
yeah. it finally fucking happened. they actually shut down deluxe. so the
final four guys, after i'd laid off the other three about a month earlier
were all out on the streets. more than 40 cumulative years of service to
the company between us and we all got was a crappy form letter and a
week's severance. no handshake or apology or condolences from upper
management whatsoever. i at least wrote some nice recommendations for the
guys, but i was left out in the cold.
the last week was a terror. they had me stick around for a week to wrapup
alone. was pretty much treated like a leper with the exception of one guy.
everyone was looking out for themselves, which i understand, but kind
words, etc., were conspicuously rare. it was a heartbreak saying goodbye
to the other three that final friday, and i'll admit a tear or two was
shed on my part. not so much for the job, but for the friendships being
changed.
had a few offers right off the bat, and found a few others, so the
prospect of being out of work wasn't totally scary. last week, which was
my first week unemployed was strange. had a few interviews, etc., so i
wasn't completely left to my own devices, but it's a weird feeling being
home after all these years. adding to the confusion was making a decision
between two prospective suitors, and the unexpected anxiety that caused.
decided on taking a chance on one with greater opportunities, but one that
also comes with some strings from the old place and a not too certain
path. we'll see how it all turns out.
as for the rest .. still seeing a few shows here and there ... doing a
good deal more hiking, which is nice. and have actually been practicing
some of the nozzle set. we're gonna try and regroup in hb it seems at a
studio. that might be fun. we'll see.
they've taken to beheading a lot of people now it seems over in the middle
east. i must say it's a curious way of expressing your religion by killing
people who aren't harming you. i understand there are historical issues
and some people have incredibly long memories .. but it just doesn't seem
right. and i guess that's because it isn't. of course if bush hadn't of
gotten us into this mess in the first place, things might be a little
different. i guess nobody told him saddam didn't fly the planes into the
towers.

gonna try and finalize my new position tomorrow. should work out well.
still need to get the car fixed. gonna try and grab a lunch this week with
some of the boys. and maybe go for a hike. i'd go riding on my bike, but
some fucker stole it out of my garage when i was at hcr. and i need a
haircut before friday .. the next show, lol.
oh yeah, and you can be proud ... i haven't been boozing it up since i got
fired! woo hoo! not even at the hob, and not even for KMFDM! lol.
anyway, peace to you my friends, and i'll let you know what happens with
