Well, it's over. Done with the holidays. Lights down, decorations put away, floats being torn down somewhere distant, and the days are getting progressively longer. Even the weather announced the change. Feels like summer. It's hot and windy. Nothing like fire season in January. Only in California, eh? Today seemed like the beginning of something new. Kind of picked up on it sucking up some cabernet watching the sun turn the mountains red. Can't really put my finger on it ... don't really know why ... just a feeling that there's a change a'brewin' on that gusty wind that's blowing tonight. What it is remains to be seen. I think there's been more spectacular sunrises and sunsets this last week than I can remember in a long time. The sky was on fire the other morning. I really wanted to share it, even had the opportunity I guess, but couldn't bring myself to do it, at least not in the way I long for. But hey, it made the drive in a whole lot more pleasant. Nothing like watching the sky burn while you're listening to Dickens. What the sky and wind portend all remains to be seen ... hopefully this time around it will be something for the better ... something that will lead the way back to the center. I'll let you know ...
