X

House of Blues, Anaheim

Man, does anybody remember X? I swear when I told people I was going to see X this weekend everyone thought I was talking about the X-men movie. How sad. Even got it from the 30-40 year old crowd. Go figure. Anyway, I struggled through a headache and a cold and made it to the show. The band played well, although it didn't seem they had that much enthusiasm. The music was good, not too loud, and they played all the songs everyone there wanted to hear. The crowd was in no great shape to boot, either not being into it that much, or just too damn old to rock and roll anymore. That pretty much defined the whole night. It wasn't boring or anything like that mind you, some people were into it. I was just expecting more from a show featuring one of the best punk bands of the early years. The band members did show some class and played a reasonably long enough set and willingly signed CD's and the like for the crowd up front. You don't see that a whole hell of a lot anymore, and they deserve credit for doing it. I don't really know what else to say here. I went to see X, I saw X, they sounded like X, it was an all X evening. I just wish someone besides myself and a few others would have gotten into it and made the evening a tad wilder.

You can find X here.
