Lee Rocker

House of Blues, Anaheim

It's a treat when an opener turns out to be the bright spot of the night, and it was no exception for Lee Rocker. Opening for The Knitters, Lee displayed the energy, style and presence that helped make the Stray Cats so damn popular. Playing a sexy silver upright bass and dressed in black with a bunch of silver jewelry, Lee put on a show that pretty much stole the night. Nothing more than just plain good old hard rockin rockabilly there, but that's all the night required. If you like rockabilly, and get the chance, by all means go check Lee out. He's still kicking ass after 20 some years, and while he may not be as much fun in the pit as the Reverend Horton Heat, the music's just as good and the show's a lot more polished. Don't miss him!
