KMFDM House of Blues, Anaheim Oh lordy. Girls in latex. You've got to love it. So I admit it. I'm a pig. I know what I like and I liked KMFDM a lot more than I ever thought I would have. In what became one of the best nights at the House of Blues, I spent the evening with my head some three feet from the extremely loud stack of speakers, leaning on a riser they had placed on the floor, and stood next to Jeff the security guard as we both stared in wide-eyed amazement up at Lucia in the black and yellow latex suit and created an ever-widening puddle of drool on the floor. I waited for what seemed like an hour for her to come out at the meet-and-greet after the show, but evidently left just before she came out. She's not the prettiest girl in the world I'll admit, but god-damn that latex was fine. But I know you didn't come here to learn about my inane fantasies regarding latex and girls and how she sweats inside it, and how she takes it off in the shower backstage, and and and .... lol. The rest of the band was well put together, and played loud, hard and fast. It was a total aural and visual fest for the senses, and between their music and their totally insane lighting (which may have been second only to Mudvayne's but was probably better) it was probably one of the best shows I've ever experienced there. The music is totally industrial, so if you don't like that stuff, stay away. On the other hand if you're into it, don't miss it by any chance ... you'll really really regret it. Saw them again (June 04). Not quite the same show this time. The fancy lighting was gone and they were out supporting their recently released WWIII. Lucia still looked good, but the latex was gone. To sort of make up for, I guess, she at least had a zipper running along her crotch, lol. I was supposed to have gotten shitfaced up front with one of the off-duty security guys, but he pussed out in the balcony. I just kind of checked it out from the side of the pit, lol. Somewhat of a letdown night I think, but it still surpassed many of the shows I've seen there. You can find KMFDM's homepage here. |
