Halford House of Blues, Anaheim How high a note can you hit? This night turned into the metal extravaganza. Four bands made for a very long night. The long wait for Rob to come on stage was worth it however. Playing a long, loud and hard driving set, Halford got the crowd going and never looked back. The House was packed with mostly Halford fans, surprisingly both old and young. Rob can still hit the high notes, that's for sure, and he spent a good part of the night singing them. The set contained bits from Halford's latest release, all the way back to the old Judas Priest songs most of the audience was there to hear. Not as wild as most of the metal shows I've seen there was relatively little moshing or surfing to be found, perhaps because of the average age. There were a lot more devil horns and thrust up fists to be found than guys surfing the crowd. No matter, the show was well worth the wait. The only thing I'd recommend is a change in clothes for old Rob. While he still looks pretty kewl with the glasses and black leather, he's getting kind of pudgy and wearing low cut leather pants just makes it look all the worse. But we weren't all there to see that were we? You can find Halford's homepage here. |
