Pigmy Love Circus House of Blues, Anaheim Opening for King Crimson, PLC was a welcome delight. I knew the show that night was going to be good since I felt I'd received more than fair value for my $40 after the first two PLC songs. Only about 40 or so people were there to see the Pigmys and I doubt the rest of the crowd really understood or enjoyed these guys. But I did ... immensely. Just good plain old hard driving rock and roll played by a group of freaks. Two guitars, one bass, one drummer, and one disturbed singer in a kilt pretty much describes the band. Sporting fake guns, a clowns mask, a knife, a hand puppet/doll and a few other props, the singer made the visuals interesting, if not just downright wrong. It all worked good though, and I found myself rapidly becoming one of their fans. If you like your rock loud, hard, and with a freaky edge, these are the guys to check out. You can find the Love Circus here. |
