2 Cents House of Blues, Anaheim Well ... at least I know where their name came from. Seriously, they weren't all that bad, and they are probably worth more than the two pieces of copper their moniker suggests, but then again they're not all that great. Mediocre pop punk is what I'd call it. Add to that the singer is buried behind his drum kit and there goes all the excitement. The music was average and the stage presence was fairly dismal. Oddly enough they were able to coax a few fat drunken bastards to start spinning in the pit, much to my sprained ankles dismay ... and I'll admit one or two of their songs got me going a little, but that's about it. I've seen so many good shows of late and keep comparing bands like this to the others. They don't measure up on any account ... songs, musical talent, or stagemanship. They were a fitting opener for Pennywise (read that review you stupid punks), and did their part to make the evening worth every one of the ten dollars I spent. See 'em if you know 'em or like 'em. Otherwise, just stay at home and rent a movie. You can find the 2 Cents' website
